Every year the initiative TUNE IT! SAFE! of the Association of German Automobile Tuners (VDAT) proves that tuning can be safe. For the sixth time, AC Schnitzer is participating in the campaign -which is also supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure - by equipping the campaign vehicle.
The aim of the initiative is to use a campaign to draw attention to homologated and safe tuning and to show what sensational vehicles with road registration are possible.

It is obvious that all AC Schnitzer components fitted are available and approved for the M850i.

The basic vehicle in 2020 is the BMW M850i xDrive, which is pushed from 530 HP to 620 HP with AC Schnitzer performance upgrade. The performance upgrade is of course approved and comes with a component warranty. A standard which incidentally applies to all AC Schnitzer performance upgrades. The performance experience is rounded off by the AC Schnitzer engine optics which, when the bonnet is opened, shows that professionals have certainly been at work here.

The fitted AC Schnitzer sports exhaust including two exhaust flaps and two "Carbon Sport" tailpipes each (right/left combination, four pieces) can also be covered by an optional warranty. In all cases it provides sonorous sound which complies with the specified noise limits.

Lowering the suspension of the M850i, which is achieved with the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit by approx. 20 - 30 mm at the front and approx. 20 - 25 mm at the rear compared with the standard vehicle, is also homologated, allowing the TUNE IT! SAFE! Police BMW M850i by AC Schnitzer to take every corner even safer.

The AC Schnitzer carbon front spoiler elements, the front splitter, the carbon front side wings, the carbon side skirts, the carbon rear diffuser and the carbon rear spoiler are of course also included to present the wide range of tuning elements from Aachen.

In addition to the road approval, which is also obligatory for the aerodynamic components, the aerodynamic conversion ensures significantly optimised downforce values.

The interior is noble and above all safety concerns: AC Schnitzer aluminium gear shift paddles set (black anodised), aluminium pedals and footrest, aluminium keyholder and the cover for the iDrive controller can be used legally.

The wheel set can also be installed with a clear conscience, with weight-optimised AC Schnitzer AC3 Flowforming rims in matt anthracite in 9.0J x 21" at the front and 10.0J x 21" at the rear. In addition, Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tyres in size 255/30 R21 front and 295/25 R 21 are used.

For the genuine police look of the TUNE IT! SAFE! campaign vehicle it is provided on the one hand by the wrapping in the official FOLIATEC decor and on the other hand by the special police signalling system "RTK 7 with Proflash warning lights", which were supplied by Hella.

The TUNE IT! SAFE! Police BMW M850i by AC Schnitzer will celebrate its premiere on 15th December 2020 at the BMW Welt in Munich. In the course of 2021, the campaign vehicle will be presented at various exhibitions and events.

The joint "Tuning Project", which is financed exclusively by sponsors, shows once again that tuning from Germany can make the hearts of car fans beat faster and still be safe.
